Aloe vera
Aloe vera is rich in anthraquinones, lectins and mannans. These compounds decrease blood lipids and aids faster healing of wounds.
Drink a half glass of freshly prepared aloe vera juice every morning.
Bitter Gourd
Bitter Gourd possesses blood sugar lowering properties. It increases insulin secretion and also prevents insulin resistance. It contains polypeptide-P that plants insulin and helps in regulating blood glucose level.
Drink a ½ cup of freshly prepared bitter ground juice daily in the morning and also include this vegetable in your regular meals.
Cinnamon
Cinnamon increases insulin sensitivity. It helps in improving the level of blood sugar and reduces the risks related to diabetes as well as cardiovascular diseases.
In a glass of warm water add a ½ teaspoon cinnamon powder Drink this concoction daily.

Indian Gooseberry is rich in Vitamin C.
Consume 1 – 2 cups of Indian Gooseberry juice daily. To make juice, remove the seeds and grind the gooseberries in a mixer with some water. Strain the juice with the help of a cloth or a strainer. If you find it sour, you can dilute it with water.
For better results, you can also mix one tablespoon of amla juice with one cup of karela juice. Drink this juice on a regular basis in the morning on an empty stomach.
Ginger
Ginger is commonly used as a herbal treatment for many ailments such as indigestion, cold, nausea, and diarrhoea. Try to incorporate this into your regular diet and sip on warm ginger tea 1 -2 times daily.
Black plum or Indian BlackBerry
Black plum, commonly known as Jamun (or Jambul fruit) contains hydrolyzable tannins, ellagic acid, and anthocyanins. These compounds help in maintaining blood glucose levels. The fruit has jamboline, a compound
which helps in conversion of starch into sugar. Thus, it helps in regulating high glucose level in the body.
Always try to incorporate this fruit when it is readily available in season. You can also make powder of the dried seeds. Eat 1 -2 teaspoon of this powder with water, curd or milk twice daily.
Mango leaves
Tender mango leaves the lower level of blood glucose and promotes healthy functioning of the pancreas.
Soak 10 – 15 tender and fresh mango leaves in a glass of water. Filter this water and drink this on an empty stomach daily.
Dried and powdered mango leaves can also be used. Consume 1 – 2 teaspoons of powdered leaves with water twice daily.
Bengal grams
Bengal grams or chickpeas lowers blood glucose level in diabetic patients. You should try to make it your staple inclusion in your regular diet.
